Did you know there is a Veterans Administration Pension
called “Aid and Attendance” that can provide money for
regular un-reimbursed medical expenses such as personal
care, and costs associated with Assisted Living Communities?
Suffield by the River wants you to be informed of these
government funds and their availability specifically for
Veterans and their surviving spouses.
The Veterans Administration established the Aid and
Attendance Pension in 1952, to assist wartime veterans
and their surviving spouses who:
- Require financial Aid as a result of un-reimbursed
medical expenses and
- Require the Attendance of another person to assist
with aspects of daily living and independence.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR AID AND ATTENDANCE PENSION

least 90 days on active duty with at least 1 day of
service during a war-time period.

Korea – June 27, 1950 through January 31, 1955

ability to work and is in need of home care assistance.

assets for a single person, no more than $80,000 for a
couple, but it can change based on age and your monthly
financial situation. Liquid assets are defined as cash,
